Parent and Family Programs
The University of Oregon Parent and Family Programs offers programming and support for the parents and families of undergraduate students. We believe that parent and family members serve as valuable partners in student success. Involved and informed parents and family members are able to be a resource for their students, as well as the larger university community. Our program works to support Duck Families by sharing resources, coordinating events, and facilitating the UO Parent and Family Association.
The University of Oregon Parent and Family Association (PFA) is a group of Duck Families who have made the choice to be active and engaged with their student's university. It was established in 2005 to enhance programs and services provided to parents and family members of UO Students. Families can join the PFA for a one-time membership fee of $70 that, which allows the PFA to provide increased communications, support, and events for members. The one-time fee is waived for families who are Pell Grant eligible.
Homecoming and Fall Family Weekend
FFW 2015 is integrated with University of Oregon's Homecoming events and falls at the end of the first six weeks of school. For our first-year families, the first six weeks of a student's first term are called the "Red Zone" and are often regarded as the most challenging of a student's collegiate career. Joining us for FFW is a great way to celebrate your student successfully navigating this important time!
Please note, at the University of Oregon, families do not need to register for a Fall Family Weekend package. Other than football tickets and our tailgate, all FFW and Homecoming events on our schedule are free. We will have a check in table at the Ford Alumni Center starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 6. You can pick up schedules, materials, and grab refreshments to start your family weekend off right!
If you have not made accommodations yet, please note that hotels are hard to find during this time. Because of this, many parents opt to stay outside of Eugene, such as Salem or Florence. One helpful resource to check the fantastic Eugene, Cascades & Oregon Cost website, where you can check all public Lane County accomodations. Upon last check (10/29) there was still availability on alternative sites, such as AirB&B https://www.airbnb.com/ and Vacation Rental by Owner http://www.vrbo.com/.
UPDATE: As of 10/5/15 we are sold out of football tickets for the Cal game. If you still need tickets, please contact Ryan Lane at 541-346-8453.
